The Department of Education (DepEd), in partnership with PhilHealth, National Center for Mental Health, and PLDT, launched the Yakap at Kalinga Caravan and conducted an audit of DepEd’s Nationwide Mental Health Hotline and Learner Support Center at GTDLNHS, reinforcing efforts to support the mental health and well-being of teachers, students, and their families.

Education Secretary Angara observed a demonstration of DepEd’s two-way helpline, a key component of the agency’s learner support system designed to assist students facing mental health challenges.

As part of the event, EastWest Rural Bank and Malayan Sabings Bank donated mobile phones to support the operations of the hotline and learner support services.

Secretary Angara visited the Care Center, Teen Center, and Learner Rights and Protection (LRP) Desk of GTDLNHS and graced the Mental Health Seminar for Parents and Learners sponsored by Ateneo de Manila University.

The initiatives aim to provide the school community with improved access and opportunities to essential health services, including mental health and psychosocial support.

Secretary Angara also observed the school-based feeding program for ARAL learners.

DepEd also donated five laptops for the ongoing ARAL program of the school.
