Some feelings are too heavy to carry, some problems are too difficult to solve, and some tasks are too hard to complete. When they all happen at once, our brains become overstimulatedโ€”but creative media becomes our savior.

Movies, novels, stories, songsโ€”we don’t just watch them, read them, and listen to them. We feel them. They live inside us. A scene that reminds us of a childhood we thought we’d forgotten, a line in a book that says exactly what we couldn’t say ourselves, a lyric that finds us right when we needed it. We carry them with us, because in those moments, they are not just stories being toldโ€”they are our own.

Songs, stories, novels, and movies become our way to escape from realityโ€”a reality full of anguish. When the world feels too heavy, watching movies, reading stories or novels, and listening to music supports our mental health.

In the middle of despair, anxiety, and sadness, creative media becomes our armor. Movies, songs, novels, and stories are no longer just things we watch, read, or listen toโ€”they become our shield, our protector, our weapon against anguish.

A film holds us when no one else can, a lyric gives voice to the ache we cannot name, a novel reminds us that someone, somewhere, has survived this same breaking. And slowly, in every story told, every scene watched, and every lyric heard, something inside us begins to mend. Not because we forgot the pain, but because art taught us how to carry it, and how to heal.

Movies, stories, novels, and songs have been a major part of our healing from heavy feelings, anxiety, and depression. Even though healing takes time, creative media helps us heal faster. So, whenever you are feeling down or blue, just watch, listen, and read.
